Vehicle Story

This 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible was given a frame-off restoration 14 years ago and has been kept in a garage and rarely driven since then. It features a dark blue paint job and a power convertible top in white over a white interior. Chrome trim highlights the grille, quad headlights, mirrors, door handles, wheel arches, body sides, and bumpers. The wire wheels are wrapped in whitewall tires. The interior features white front bucket seats, a white rear bench, white door panels, column-mounted shifter, and manual windows. Power is provided by a 330ci V8 rebuilt approximately 3-4 years before this Cutlass was restored. Now available for sale, this Cutlass droptop comes with a clear title in the owner's name, service manuals, and restoration and service records.

Oldsmobile redesigned the Cutlass and gave it a longer wheelbase for the 1964 model year. It followed that up with cosmetic revisions for 1965. As part of its 3-year-long restoration, this 1965 Cutlass convertible was repainted in its original dark blue color. According to the seller, virtually all its body and assembly bolts are new. A white convertible power top covers the two rows of white seats. The seller notes that the trunk area has not been completed.

The front end features the Oldsmobile rocket logo badge on the hood. Black letters spell out "OLDSMOBILE" across the grille bar that connects the two pairs of headlights. The lower bodysides and wheel arches over the wire wheels and whitewall tires are highlighted with chrome trim. Stacked horizontal taillights flank the rear end's metallic trim plate. A pair of curved exhaust finishers exit below the bumper.

The white interior is outfitted with a combination of front buckets, a rear bench seat, and coordinating door panels. The black dashboard has a silver front fascia. Dark blue carpeting covers the floor and lower door panels. Equipment includes a two-spoke steering wheel, column-mounted automatic shifter, foot-activated emergency brake, crank windows, cigarette lighter, and radio.

Pulls control the windshield wipers and lights. Instruments come in the form of a 120-mph speedometer, gear indicator, fuel gauge, and more.

Approximately 3 or 4 years before this Cutlass was restored, its original 330ci V8 engine was rebuilt. The seller notes that there is a slight drip around the oil pan. The engine routes its power through an automatic transmission and the rear wheels.

The photo gallery for this car contains pictures of certain suspension components and other parts of its underbody.

This 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible received an oil change and comes with service manuals and records as well as documents related to its restoration.

It looks the same, some of the photos are old ones as shown by the date stamp. The balance were taken about three weeks ago. There is no change in appearance.

@SPEED – As the car sits now, does everything work as it should ? How old are the tires ? ...

Everything works as it should, power top, radio, wipers, signals, lights, the tires were put on in 2008, oil pressure light flickers at idle at times.
