1966 Ford Bronco

This 1966 Ford Bronco two-door 4x4 is a largely-original, rust-free sport utility vehicle showing 23,000 miles on the odometer that comes with two tops, its original Ramsey winch, dual fuel tanks, auxiliary lighting, and more. Under the hood, the numbers-matching 289ci V8 has been outfitted with stainless-steel headers and an aluminum radiator, sending power to all four wheels via a replacement Tremec 5-speed manual transmission with a new clutch, driveshaft, and locking hubs. This first-year Bronco was sold new in July of its model year at Fred Jones Ford in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was featured later in life in Ford promotional materials. Finished in Springtime Yellow with a white hardtop over a black vinyl interior, this Bronco is now offered with documentation, service records, manuals, and clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.

The Bronco model was introduced in 1966 as a four-wheel drive off-road vehicle with available body configurations in sport utility, pickup, and roadster variants, utilizing box-section body-on-frame construction. This Bronco from that initial model year is painted Springtime Yellow and comes with both a factory hard top as well as a soft top. Additional features include the original Ramsey winch, auxiliary front lighting, a spotlight, black-finished Aries tubular side steps, Bronco Sport fender badging, and a rear-mounted spare tire with a vinyl cover. Exterior finishes are described as being show-ready, and the vehicle was previously used in Ford promotional activities per the seller.  

Polished aluminum Ultra 16” wheels are wrapped in new 285/75-series BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. The body rides on a custom lifted 4.5” Rancho suspension, and the braking system has been upgraded to power-assisted discs up front.

The interior is equipped with new black vinyl upholstery for the front buckets and the rear bench, color-keyed to matching replacement carpeting. Equipment includes tinted windows, a roll bar, aluminum door sill plates, a radio, and a sport steering wheel.

Instrumentation comes from a 100-mph speedometer with surrounding auxiliary gauges as well as an under-dash aftermarket pod with readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 23,000 miles which is believed original per the seller, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The numbers-matching 289ci V8 runs well and received stainless-steel headers, an aluminum radiator, a custom dual-outlet exhaust system, a replacement clutch, and other maintenance as shown in the service records in the photo carousel. Power is directed to all four wheels via a floor-shifted Tremec 5-speed manual transmission with a new clutch and driveshaft, and the vehicle is fitted with dual fuel tanks.
