Vehicle Story

This rust-free 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible is powered by a tri-power 389ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. Features include a power convertible top, power brakes and steering, whitewall tires, and dual exhaust. This Montero Red 1966 Pontiac GTO with a white convertible top and black vinyl interior is available now and comes with its Protect-O-Plate, an owner's manual, and a clear South Carolina title from the selling dealer.

This 1966 Pontiac GTO wears its original color, Montero Red, and white accent striping. At the front, there are stacked headlights, a two-section grille, and a hood scoop with dual openings. A power-operated white fabric roof covers the passenger compartment. The rear features Pontiac lettering between the horizontal tri-bar taillights, low-mounted reverse lights, and dual exhaust outlets. Chrome bumpers are located at both ends of the car.

A set of Pontiac Rally 1 wheels with center caps and trim rings are wrapped in Guardsman narrow-whitewall radial tires.

The front bucket seats and full-width rear bench seat are upholstered in black vinyl. The black vinyl carries onto the door panels and rear trim covers. Manual chrome window cranks and exit handles can be found on the doors and rear interior trim. Black carpet covers the floor pans. The black metal dashboard is topped with a black vinyl pad. A passenger grab handle is mounted on a GTO-branded trim plate above the locking glovebox. A woodgrain panel surrounds the gauges, climate control, and working AM radio. The black steering column is topped with a black 2-spoke steering wheel. A houndstooth mat covers the trunk floor and a matching cover conceals the spare tire. According to the seller, this car is not fitted with air conditioning.

Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, clock, fuel gauge, and warning lights for various vehicle systems. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 80,658 miles, but true mileage is unknown.

Power comes from a 389ci V8 engine with three 2-barrel carburetors and is sent to the rear wheels by a column-shifted automatic transmission. Chrome valve covers, chrome open-element air cleaners, and a power brake assembly can be seen under the hood.

The full-length dual exhaust system ends in a pair of outlets located under the rear bumper.

The selling dealer charges an $85 documentation fee in addition to the sale price of the vehicle. The Protect-O-Plate and an owner's manual are included with the car.
