This 1996 Volkswagen Kombi Bus is a Brazilian-market Type 2 passenger van that was imported to the United States, equipped with a newly upholstered interior, and repainted eight months ago. Powered is generated at the rear by a refurbished air-cooled 1.6-liter flat-4 paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle. This Bus offers equipment including a step ladder with a luggage rack, window curtains, and steel wheels with chrome hubcaps. Finished in two-tone white and yellow over a beige cloth interior, this Bus is now offered with a clear Florida title.
Engineered for efficiently transporting people or cargo, the original Volkswagen Type 2 was a light commercial vehicle that went under various names depending on the regional world market to which it was allocated. This Kombi bus from 1996 originated in Brazil and was repainted in the fall of 2021 under the seller’s ownership. The two-tone color scheme of white and yellow is accented with white-finished bumpers, black side mirror housings, and a driver-side-mounted ladder at the rear which connects to a luggage rack on the rooftop. The body has an embossed VW emblem up front, barn-style doors on the passenger side for entry into the rear passenger area, and an access hatch at the rear above the engine compartment.
Silver-painted steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and trim rings are wrapped in tires with black sidewall lettering. The seller notes that there is some play in the steering wheel that will need to be addressed.
The passenger compartment is fitted with three rows of reupholstered beige cloth seating along with gold and white gingham window curtains. The rubberized flooring material and the dashboard are black. Equipment includes a fire extinguisher and black safety belts.
Instrumentation consists of a 150-kph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 44K kilometers, which the seller states reflects 144k actual kilometers (89K miles) since it has rolled over once. True mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The rear-mounted air-cooled 1.6-liter flat-4 has been refurbished per the seller. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transaxle.
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
The seller has posted two videos showing the vehicle's exterior, interior, and engine bay in greater detail below.

@BirrenKirby – This my first time at an online car auction. It says there is a reserve. How do I know what the reserve is? Or is that an unknown factor. ...
Hello BirrenKirby! Yes, the auction rule is to keep the reserve value unknown, but it seems to me that when a bid reaches or exceeds the reserve value, the auction makes this information public
