Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1968 Chevrolet C10 is a street rod-inspired fleetside pickup with a reportedly $15,000 powertrain that includes a custom-built 383ci stroker V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors and a BorgWarner 5-speed manual transmission. It comes equipped with power brakes and steering, headers, aftermarket auxiliary gauges, a new Bluetooth-compatible radio, and Ridler wheels. Finished in black with a patina and custom striping over a tan vinyl interior, this C10 is now offered with build documentation and a clear Wisconsin title in the current owner’s name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

From the Action Line series of General Motors pickups, this 1968 C10 fleetside has a black exterior finish with a visible patina. The roof of the cab is painted silver metallic; the hood, sides, and tailgate have accent pinstripes; and the doors have been dressed with custom artwork. Features include chrome bumpers, a white grille, window visors, a sliding rear window, and an embossed tailgate. The interior of the bed shows wear and surface corrosion consistent with age and use.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Five-spoke Ridler wheels with polished lips are wrapped in tires with black sidewall lettering.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior of the cab is fitted with a reupholstered tan vinyl bench seat with black piping, matched to the door panels, carpeting, and Chevrolet-branded floor mats. Amenities include tinted windows, a new vintage-look radio with Bluetooth connectivity, kick-panel speakers, a Hurst shifter, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and aftermarket cupholders.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Primary instrumentation comes in the form of a 100-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and warning lights for the voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. Auxiliary instruments include a dash-mounted tachometer and under-dash readouts for the coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 56K miles, although the actual mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The small-block 383ci stroker V8 was built in 2019 by Sperry Engines in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and has accrued fewer than 1,000 miles since then. It has been upgraded with dual four-barrel carburetors, a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, and MSD ignition components. Power output has reportedly been calculated to be 450 horsepower. Torque is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted BorgWarner T-5 NWC 5-speed manual transmission. The seller reports a new master cylinder and heater core were recently installed.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Stopping power comes from disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The sale includes build specifications and photographs from the powertrain assembly.
