RESERVE REMOVED: 1966 Chevrolet Corvette

OVERVIEW

This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible has been with the seller since 2014 and receives power from an upgraded BluePrint 383ci stroker V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Add-ons to that powertrain include Hooker headers, a PerTronix ignition system, a Holley carburetor, and an aluminum radiator. Recent service includes work on the braking system, spark plugs, hoses, and cooling system. Refinished in Milano Maroon with a tan retractable top over a black vinyl interior, this C2 Corvette is now offered with a dyno sheet, documentation, receipts, an uninstalled hardtop, spare parts, and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This formerly Nassau Blue Metallic Corvette droptop received a new Milano Maroon paint job under prior ownership along with a tan cloth retractable top that was replaced within the last three years. The exterior is outfitted with pop-up headlights, vented fenders, bright rocker moldings, and a luggage rack. The seller states that there is some bubbling and minor chips in the paint.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Aluminum 15-inch turbine-style wheels with knock-off center caps are wrapped in older whitewall tires that are due for replacement.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The two-seat cockpit is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats matched to the door panels, dash pad, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats. The audio system is a vertically mounted AM/FM/Bluetooth radio connected to an auxiliary sound bar.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation consists of a 160-speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 28K miles, although the actual mileage on the chassis is unknown. According to the seller, there are approximately 4K miles on the upgraded engine.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The BluePrint 383ci stroker V8 has been dyno-tested and features a 750-cfm Holley carburetor, a PerTronix ignition system, Hooker headers, and an aluminum radiator. Recent maintenance includes an oil change as well as the replacement of the distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, starter, hoses, heater core, water pump, fuel tank, and sending unit. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The seller notes signs of frame rail repair, but the car reportedly tracks well. The disc braking system was serviced with a new master cylinder, stainless steel sleeves, and replacement calipers.
