OVERVIEW
This 1980 Chevrolet El Camino coupe-utility vehicle is upgraded with American Racing 15-inch wheels, a Hurst shifter, woodgrain interior trim, and a dual exhaust system. It receives power from a 305ci small-block V8 mated to a 4-speed 700R4 automatic transmission. Finished in two-tone blue over a blue cloth interior, this fifth-generation El Camino is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear West Virginia title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This El Camino rides on the General Motors A-body platform and is presented in a two-tone blue paint scheme. Exterior features include chrome brightwork, wheel arch moldings, dual color-keyed sideview mirrors, and a dual exhaust system. The selling dealer notes that an emblem is missing from the driver-side rear of the bed, and there is some surface rust evident on the body underneath the passenger door.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Polished aluminum 15-inch American Racing five-spoke wheels are wrapped in mixed-brand Hankook and Doral tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cab is trimmed with blue cloth bucket seats split by a center console while color-coordinated to the dash, door panels, and carpeting. The dash and center stack are trimmed in a woodgrain overlay, and amenities include a B&M shifter, power windows, power door locks, a radio, and behind-seat storage areas.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation is presented by an 85-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 26K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 305ci small-block V8 is upgraded with headers and a chrome-finished air cleaner. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel. Stopping power comes from disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
A $200 dealer fee will be added to the purchase price. The selling dealer has provided a video with a start-up sequence and an exterior walkaround.
