OVERVIEW
This 1954 Chevrolet 3100 pickup was stored under previous ownership for approximately three decades until 2017 and underwent mechanical repairs under the seller’s ownership. Work included a rebuild of the 235ci inline-six and upgrades to the charging system, fuel system, mounts, hoses, and cooling equipment. The brakes received a new master cylinder and replacement lines. Torque is fed to the rear end via a four-speed manual transmission. Refinished in blue over a brown vinyl interior, this pickup is now offered with receipts, an uninstalled horn, the replaced long block, and a clear Idaho title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This 3100 pickup was repainted blue under prior ownership and was reportedly stored long-term before being returned to roadworthiness within the past five years. Features include dual side mirrors, black running boards, a side-mounted spare, chrome brightwork, and replacement taillights and parking light lenses. The passenger-side door glass and channel hardware were also replaced during the refurbishment process. The floor of the bed is lined with wooden planks. The seller notes that there are scratches from the wiper on the passenger side of the windshield. They have provided up-close images of specific exterior blemishes in the gallery to the right.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Body-color steel wheels feature bowtie-branded stainless center caps and come wrapped in tires with black sidewall lettering.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior of the cab is fitted with a brown vinyl bench seat, cream and tan door panels, newer black lap belts, and black rubber flooring material. The seller notes that the heater fan makes a noise at low speeds and the heater temperature control valve has a small leak. The original radio is present but does not work.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Vehicle information is conveyed through a 90-mph speedometer along with gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. The seller notes that the temperature gauge tubing is damaged. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 55K miles, although the actual mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
A rebuilt 235ci inline-six long block from United Engine Specialists of Wichita, Kansas was installed within the last five years. Replaced parts included the crankshaft pulley, water pump, fuel pump, motor mounts, spark plugs, distributor cap, spark plug wires, ignition coil, thermostat, battery, and hoses. The fuel tank, sending unit, and fuel lines were also replaced along with the clutch plate, pressure plate, and pilot and release bearings. The carburetor, starter, and generator were rebuilt. Service was performed in 2021 and the truck has reportedly only been driven approximately 50 miles since then. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The seller has posted engine bay and road test videos below.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The master cylinder, brake cylinders, and front brake lines were replaced under current ownership. Suspension work involved the replacement of the U-joint and wheel roller bearings and seals. The seller notes that the front driver-side leaf spring is broken but secured with a clamp. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This truck was previously sold on AutoHunter but it is being relisted after the buyer backed out of the transaction through no fault of the seller. The sale includes receipts, an uninstalled horn, and the replaced long block.

I assume the pickup was painted 30 plus years ago. I purchased in 2017 and it had been in storage prior to that.
When was the truck painted?
