OVERVIEW
This 1940 Ford panel truck underwent a full refurbishment and has been upgraded with American Racing wheels, a CD sound system, air conditioning, VDO gauges, and front disc brakes. Power is supplied by a Chevrolet 350ci V8 crate engine paired with a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Fire Engine Red over a tan vinyl interior, this vehicle is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Florida title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The body was recoated in Fire Engine Red about 10 years ago per the selling dealer and it shows age-related cracking and a ding on the passenger-side rear fender. Exterior features include chrome bumpers and headlight rings, a body-colored grille, a passenger-side-mounted spare wheel and tire, and dual side mirrors. The hood and the barn-style rear doors are controlled by solenoids.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Chrome five-spoke American Racing wheels are wrapped in blackwall tires. A matching spare is mounted on the passenger side of the vehicle.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is fitted with reupholstered tan vinyl front buckets, matched to the door panels and carpeting. Amenities include a vinyl headliner, lap belts, a Lecarra steering wheel, air conditioning, power windows, an Alpine AM/FM/CD head unit, and a fully carpeted cargo compartment.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Modern VDO instrumentation is comprised of a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges showing the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 25,271 miles, which the seller states is an accurate figure.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Chevrolet 350ci V8 crate engine has been upgraded with an electric fan, an Optima battery, and a stainless steel exhaust system. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Handling is assisted by power rack-and-pinion steering. Stopping comes from power brakes with discs up front and drums in the rear. The rear suspension uses adjustable coilovers.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
