OVERVIEW
This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air was given a frame-up restoration completed in 2008. Since then, it has only accrued approximately 4,000 miles. It draws power from a 350ci V8 engine bored .030 over mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, power brakes, power windows, an alarm, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo, and a tilt steering column. Finished in metallic gray over a two-tone gray leather and cloth interior, this Bel Air is available now and comes with a clear California title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The exterior was repaired and refinished in metallic gray during the restoration in 2008. Features include chrome bumpers, a custom tube grille, Bel Air side trim, dual side mirrors, a fender-mounted antenna, tinted glass, and dual exhaust outlets.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of custom chrome five-spoke wheels with tri-bar center caps is wrapped in Toyo Extenza 225/50/16 front and Dunlop 245/45/17 rear radial tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The front bucket seats and the matching rear seat are upholstered in gray leather with gray cloth inserts. Features include a custom center console that houses power window switches, a B&M automatic transmission shifter, cup holders, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo, speakers; and a fully upholstered trunk. Additional features include power steering, power brakes, a tilt steering column, and a three-spoke billet aluminum steering wheel.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A new 140-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. The odometer shows 2,677 miles, but the seller states that there are approximately 4,000 miles on the restoration. True mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a four-bolt main 1988 350ci Chevrolet V8 bored .030 over into a 355ci engine, which is mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Engine internals include a standard steel crank, a set of Eagle H-Beam connecting rods, Probe Flyweight pistons, a 1990 IROC Z roller camshaft and lifter set, a Pete Jackson timing gear drive, and pair of slant plug aluminum cylinder heads with 1.94 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. Underhood features include aluminum valve covers, a polished aluminum intake, a chrome air cleaner, a polished alternator, a polished air conditioning compressor, headers, a Fluidyne aluminum radiator, and a chrome master cylinder and power booster. The air conditioning compressor is installed but is currently non-operational.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Bel Air is equipped with an independent front suspension with two-inch dropped spindles and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle 12 bolt solid rear drive axle with a Positraction 2.73:1 gear and C-clip eliminators. Power 1978 Malibu front discs and 1970 Chevelle rear drums bring this car to a stop.
