OVERVIEW
This 2021 Ford Mustang NASCAR Cup Series race car was built as a backup for professional stock car racing driver Kevin Harvick but was not raced. It is powered by a 741-horsepower Chevrolet small-block V8 coupled with a Rankin four-speed manual transmission and a nine-inch rear end. Finished in black with a race livery and sponsor decals over a cockpit equipped with a full roll cage and a fire suppression system, this Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with a bill of sale. As a dedicated race vehicle, this Mustang is not street-legal and does not come with a title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The body is dressed in sponsor decals and Mobil 1 race livery and comes equipped with S550 Mustang-style lighting, plexiglass windows, and a rear spoiler.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The black wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle race tires with yellow sidewall lettering.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cockpit is fitted with a tubular roll cage, an adjustable racing bucket seat, and a Sabelt harness. Equipment includes dash-mounted controls for the starter, ignition, and other vehicle systems, along with a fire suppression system, a detachable steering wheel, window nets, and an 18-gallon aluminum fuel cell.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
AutoMeter instrumentation is installed in an aluminum bezel and includes a central 10K-rpm tachometer and accompanying gauges for the voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel pressure. The mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The modified small-block Chevrolet V8 is rated at 741 horsepower and has been equipped with MSD ignition components. Power is fed to the back wheels via a Rankin four-speed manual transmission with straight-cut gears, a Ford nine-inch rear end with 3.22:1 gearing, and a rear-end cooler.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The suspension uses Penske shock absorbers. Additional photos showing the chassis and underside are available in the carousel to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This Cup Series race car is offered strictly as a race vehicle without street-legal equipment. The selling dealer has provided a video below that shows a start-up sequence, a walkaround, and more.
