OVERVIEW
This 1971 Datsun 240Z hatchback was restored in 2021 and equipped with a body kit, halo headlights, a Sony audio system, a tubular roll cage, and newer springs and shocks. Power is provided by a 2.4-liter inline-six mated to an upgraded five-speed manual transmission. Finished in Black Cherry over a black fabric interior, this 240Z is now offered with a clear California title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This 240Z has been garage-kept since the restoration was completed. Exterior surfaces were reportedly stripped to bare metal and repainted in House of Kolor’s Black Cherry. The fiberglass body kit and bumpers were color-matched to the body. Additional exterior features include aftermarket halo headlights, a driver-side mirror, bright window trim, a rear spoiler, and a stainless steel exhaust finisher.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Polished aluminum 14-inch wheels are wrapped in newer Remington tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-seat interior is fitted with black cloth Corbeau buckets, matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. A gold tubular roll cage has been installed. Amenities include a wood-rimmed steering wheel and a Sony radio with Bluetooth connectivity. The seller notes that the dash has some cracks in it.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges at the top of the center stack that show the coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 90,260 miles, but the true mileage is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 2.4-liter inline-six was rated at 151 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an upgraded five-speed manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Suspension work includes the replacement of the springs and shock absorbers. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel to the right.
