OVERVIEW
This 1965 Ford Mustang convertible received a body-on restoration encompassing paint, brightwork, interior, and drivetrain elements within the last 4,000 miles. It is powered by a rebuilt 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission and features a Flowmaster dual exhaust system and styled chrome wheels with Uniroyal whitewall tires. Finished in Desert Sand and equipped with a new black retractable top over a black vinyl interior, this first-generation Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
As part of the restoration process, the body was repainted Desert Sand and capped with a new black retractable top. The brightwork, rubber trim, and window channels were replaced at the same time. Features include 289 badging, a driver-side mirror, and a Flowmaster dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Chrome 14-inch wheels with Mustang-branded center caps are wrapped in Uniroyal Tiger Paw whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior was overhauled at the time of restoration and comes equipped with black vinyl low-back bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, matched to the dash, door panels, carpeting, and floor mats. Features include a center console, lap belts, bright trim, a wrapped steering wheel, and a vinyl trunk mat.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation consists of a sweeping 120-mph speedometer surrounded by gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 3,800 miles, which reflects the mileage put on the rebuilt engine. The true mileage on the car is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 289ci V8 was rebuilt within the last 4,000 miles and features an aluminum radiator, headers, and chrome accents. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission equipped with a newer clutch.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping power comes from manual disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. The suspension has adjustable air shocks in the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer has provided a video of the car including a start-up and a drive-by.
