OVERVIEW
This Judge-style 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible underwent restoration approximately 15 years ago and draws power from a 1969 400ci Ram Air III V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes color-keyed Rally II wheels, power front disc brakes, power steering, bucket seats, and a center console. Finished in Crystal Turquoise with a black power-retractable top over a black vinyl interior, this GTO is now offered with Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) documentation, a vinyl convertible boot, an uninstalled hood-mounted tachometer, and a clear New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The restoration of this GTO convertible was completed around 2008 and involved a color change from Mayfair Maize to Crystal Turquoise. Features include quad headlights, accent striping, The Judge decals, chrome brightwork, a black convertible top, and a rear spoiler. The seller notes that there is a quarter-sized blemish on one corner of the hood.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Rally II 15-inch wheels with body-color inserts and PMD center caps are wrapped in 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cockpit is equipped with black vinyl bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and matching materials for the door panels, dash, and carpeting. The dash and console are accented with simulated woodgrain veneer. Amenities include power windows, lap belts, embroidered floor mats, and a vinyl trunk liner.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 33,778 miles, which the seller believes to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
According to the seller, the date-correct YZ 1969 400ci Ram Air III V8 came from a GTO Judge and received maintenance within the last year that included the replacement of the oil pressure sending unit, an oil change, and the installation of a new power steering pump. Power is fed to the back wheels via a console-shifted three-speed automatic transmission and a 3.55 rear end. The seller states that the oil pan gasket weeps.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping power comes from power front disc brakes and rear drums. Steering is power-assisted. The brake system received a replacement master cylinder and a fluid flush within the last year, per the seller.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This GTO was previously sold on AutoHunter, but it is being relisted after the buyer backed out of the transaction through no fault of the seller. The sale includes documentation from Pontiac Historic Services (PHS), a convertible boot, and an uninstalled hood-mounted tachometer.
