Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1972 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne long-bed truck was built in Chevrolet's St. Louis, Missouri plant and configured with power brakes, power steering, air conditioning, and tinted windows. In 2021, it underwent a frame-off restoration by Murpho's Rods and Customs in Buda, Texas that reportedly cost $72,000. According to the seller, it received $7,000 in mechanical updates from Jerry Dixon Automotive Klassic Kar Center in Austin, Texas. Power is supplied by a 350ci V8 connected to a rebuilt Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in White and Light Yellow over a black vinyl and houndstooth fabric interior, this restored C10 is available now and comes with restoration documents, a custom vehicle cover, and a clear Texas title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

During the body-off restoration, the upper part of the cab was refinished in White and the rest of the truck was repainted Bright Yellow. The inside of the fleetside long bed and tailgate has been coated with black bed liner material. Features include chrome bumpers, tinted windows, dual mirrors, upper and lower side trim, a spare tire in the bed, and a single rear exhaust outlet. The seller reports the radio antenna has been snapped off.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

The Chevrolet truck Rallye wheels are wrapped in new Michelin tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The restored cabin is furnished with a black vinyl bench seat with black and white houndstooth cloth inserts, simulated woodgrain dashboard and door panel trim, black carpeting, and a black rubber floor covering. It comes equipped with vent windows, manual window cranks, shoulder belts, a column-mounted automatic shifter, power steering and brakes, air conditioning, and a newer AM/FM radio. According to the seller, the original horn did not work so a horn button has been added to the steering column.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

Instrumentation consists of a gear selection indicator, a 100-mph speedometer, and gauges for the fuel level, battery, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The seller has put approximately 2,000 miles on the truck in their 10 years of ownership and believes the analog odometer has rolled over. Since the restoration was completed, the truck has been driven 700 miles. The odometer currently shows 13,946 miles, which is equivalent to 113,946 miles. The true mileage on this pickup is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The original engine has been replaced with a 350ci V8 that comes connected to a newer carburetor and exhaust system installed by Jerry Dixon Automotive Klassic Kar Center. The Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic was rebuilt during the restoration process. According to the seller, the firewall insulation was not included in the restoration, which means the inside of the cab can be loud.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Restoration documents and a custom vehicle cover come with the purchase of the truck.
