This 1954 Fiat 500C Belvedere has a factory-installed full-length retractable roof and is powered by a 569cc inline-four mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The body style includes rear-hinged doors and a horizontal tailgate, and the interior is described as having been reupholstered according to the owner who has had it in their possession for eight years. Finished in cream and grey beige over a brown interior, this Fiat 500C Belvedere is offered with service records and documentation from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Manufactured in Italy, the Fiat 500C Belvedere was so-named because of its translation, meaning “a raised structure offering a pleasant view of the surrounding area,” in reference to the car’s manually retractable roof, which was standard equipment. This example was reportedly refinished in cream and grey-beige, and features include sliding side windows as well as brightwork for the bumpers, grille slats, moldings, and more. The seller notes areas of rust on the rear door by the spare tire, as well as inside the passenger side door.
Steel wheels wrapped in Waymaster tires are color-matched to the body.
The interior is home to brown vinyl seating and matching door panels, while flooring is rubber vinyl. Switchgear is contained to the instrument panel and a spare tire is stored in a compartment below the rear cargo area. The four-speed manual transmission is operated by a floor-mounted shifter with a red knob.
The instrument panel is stretches across the length of the dash and contains a 110-kmh speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel gauge. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
The water-cooled 569cc OHV inline-four developed 13 horsepower when new and allows for a top speed of approximately 55 mph. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission with a floor-mounted shift lever.
