This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS two-door hardtop is an award-winning muscle car that has been driven approximately 1,800 miles since undergoing a 5-year restoration that was completed in 2010. Power is delivered by a performance-upgraded and fuel-injected 355ci V8 paired with a rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. This California-kept Camaro originated in Van Nuys, California in October of its model year and came with factory air conditioning, Super Sport and Rally Sport package, a center console, and more. Content has been upgraded to include an adjustable suspension, 17-inch Billet Specialties wheels, a Wilwood braking system, and full Dakota Digital gauges. Finished in three-stage metallic burgundy over a black leather interior, this first-year Camaro is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer with its original restored California license plates and a clear title.
The launch of the Camaro, based on the General Motors semi-unibody F-body platform, took place in the fall of 1966 for the 1967 model year. This Camaro two-door hardtop from that first year was subject to a five-year restoration that included the refurbishment of the mechanical hardware, exterior, and cockpit. Fresh three-stage metallic burgundy paint was applied over the rust-free body. The car’s resulting condition has reportedly been recognized with multiple honors including Best of the Best at a show in Solvang, California in 2018 and awards from more than 50 other events. The exterior features a chin spoiler, hideaway headlamps, a front air dam, SS badging, dual side mirror caps, a rear spoiler, and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and chrome exhaust tips.
Polished aluminum 17-inch Billet Specialties wheels are wrapped in Continental tires sized 235/45 up front and 245/50 in the rear. Driving assistance is provided by power steering; stopping is handled by Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners along with slotted/drilled rotors and stainless-steel lines. The entire suspension was rebuilt and includes 2-inch drop spindles and an adjustable setup at the front and traction bars at the rear.
The cabin has been fitted with a custom black leather interior with fold-forward buckets, a new dash, replacement door panels, a center console, black carpeting, and GM seat belts. Amenities include power windows, a Vintage Air climate system, a modern radio, and a fully carpeted trunk with a hidden compartment for the battery.
Vehicle information is communicated through a full set of Dakota Digital gauges with a speedometer, tachometer, and auxiliary readouts for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The replacement digital odometer reads 1,826 miles, although true overall mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The fuel-injected and modified 355ci V8 has been balanced and blueprinted and sits in a detailed engine bay with dress-up accents. Performance modifications include Street & Performance fuel injection, Dart heads, a COMP roller cam, 1.6 roller rockers, a serpentine belt setup, and Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers. Additional equipment includes a polished fuel tank, an aluminum differential cover, and more. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic coupled with a positraction rear end with 4:11 gears.
Photos showing the rust-free condition of the underside are available in the carousel.

As we count down the final hours of the auction, please reach out with any questions as we will be close by to respond. Here are a couple of photos the owner sent of the awards he has received over the years. He has decided to keep these as a memento of his ownership but wanted to show them to back up the statements in the listing. This Camaro is one of the most thorough restorations we have seen. Often there is a focus of one or two items over another, for example engine or driveline may be the priority and the interior or other finish items take a backseat. Not the case with this car as it is clear that no expenses were spared in all aspects. The result is a very high-quality build, finish and look that has, and will continue to stand the test of time. Thank you to the bidders and good luck to all in the final hours!
